BA2 Week Seven Summary

This week is dedicated to independent study and completing our 1000 word essay as-well as other assessment requirements. I feel if I had prepared earlier I would be less overwhelmed with work to do also my work may have been at a higher quality, I will be implementing this in BA3 to make the most of the unit. I am struggling the most with my 1000 word essay, next time an 1000 word essay needs to be written for a unit I will be seeking help from Academic support to make sure I write the best essay possible along with filling requirements of the unit.

BA2 Week Six Summary

This week I had a tutorial with my Personal Tutor however I didn't feel I got much out of this apart from understanding that I could take my original ideas and try to experiment with their elements more. I also had a drawing workshop this week which I really enjoyed as I was just producing art for the fun of it which I haven't done for a while.

BA2 Week Five Summary

This week was the last week of Hybrid workshops however I really didn't enjoy this week's project at all. We had to do a live broadcast and each group had been given and idea, our group's task was an interview however myself and other members of the group did not feel comfortable performing in front our peers or online, so instead we came up with making a video (made up of clips of crushing/stepping on eggs and pouring milk on feet) and projecting it for the live broadcast but doing a voice over interview in the background. Another problem was that our questions weren't well thought out and members of the group deviated from the original plan we thought of, so people were unprepared and didn't understand what they were trying to do.

BA2 Week Four Summary

This week I enjoyed our Hybrid workshop as it focused on gathering everyday sounds and putting them them together and putting them with a film clip. Our group chose a static video clip and gathered everyday sounds like a siren and buskers we also took the work static and though of other associated words and added them into a soundboard where we edited and reworked the sounds to play behind the film clip. I have thought about possibly working this into my practise by making a film of my installations and adding background music.

BA2 Week Three Summary

I have been confused this last week on how to fit my practise into one of the four essay themes. Having a tutorial with Carl helped me find a title which combined both my practise and the theme of Realism. Now having a title, I can make a start on the 1000 word essay, however I am also struggling to find artists relevant to my practise before the 1980's as the term relational aesthetics (which is almost identical to m practise) and the majority of the artists related to that term are from the 1990's onwards. This will be my main task for next week along with creating proposals for installations a mini-installation spaces to accompany them (made out of cardboard boxes to show proposals for larger artworks), these installations will also be filmed and photographed for documentation.

BA2 Week Two Summary

Unfortunately in this week I was ill so could not attend the Hybrid workshops so instead focused on researching the Sociological and Psychological aspects of my practise along with researching senses (a key part to my most recent ideas) I am struggling to find a way to actually "visually create" my proposals for art pieces. As I do not have enough studio space nor space at home. Although as I am not currently creating any actually art pieces I worry this will affect my assessment as I will not be able to effectively produce a piece.

BA2 Week One Summary

For the first week of BA2 we had our first Hybrid workshop, unfortunately I had wanted to choose Sculpture but there was no places left on the workshop so I was sorted into Hybrid which focuses mainly on video, sound etc. Apart from having to leave early I enjoyed some of the propositions like "taking un unexpected walk" however I felt this wasn't really relevant to what I want to produce in my practise.
